Working the Wire

Well, my self-funded trip to Mexico went extremely well. I was very lucky, photographed some amazing people, and just learned a lot about documentary solo work, and immigration in general, as well as a lot about how I work in the field and without guidance. It was a ton of firsts, and I’m pretty happy with the results, although I’m always rather perfectionist.

Hopefully this will lead to more (hopefully paid and/or sponsored) work on the topic, because I really find the topic of immigration moving and interesting. Not sure why but people just really warmed up to and opened up to me and I really felt honored by their trust. I love what I do. Now if I could just get one of those grants I keep looking into….
